About the Opportunity:

Due to an internal staff transfer, we have a permanent opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition Business Partner to join our People team. The role can be based in either Adelaide or Canberra. This role is an internal, capability building recruitment role providing support to our Operation Managers, Program Managers and other hiring managers within the domestic and global business units. There is a strong focus on active and passive candidate management and stakeholder engagement. You'll need to be fully conversant and comfortable with traditional and contemporary channels and approaches.

The Nova Group comprises Nova Systems, Geoplex, GVH Aerospace and Two10Degrees supporting a variety of clients across Defence (CASG), Government, Civil Aviation and Defence industries. The roles we recruit to are often complex Engineering and Technical disciplines. Experience in sourcing talent for Engineering Projects, understanding the Project Management life-cycle and an understanding of the Defence contracting model would be highly regarded.

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will provide global recruitment support to our teams across the entire recruitment lifecycle. You will partner with the business to provide strategic advice, monitor compliance and support leaders to enable stakeholders to reach their goals.

You will be a "tech savvy" digital innovator, comfortable with modern technical practices that ensure we optimise where possible. The environment we operate in is dynamic, technical, and AGILE and you will need to have a "Change management mindset" to deliver in a project-based engineering consulting environment. This is an internally focussed role concentrating on building capability. Your prime customer is the internal Nova Group stakeholder, therefore a strong sales approach is not required for this position.

A recruiting background in either Defence, Engineering, Technical or ICT is advantageous

You will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with leaders and stakeholders (Globally) to provide strategic recruitment advice whilst delivering a premium service focused on outcomes.
  • Supporting the recruitment process thought the entire lifecycle.
  • Building sustainable and relevant talent pipelines to meet future workforce demands.
  • Designing, construct and maintain relevant sourcing strategies for your stakeholder group to meet current and future workforce demands.
  • Utilising social media to contact active and passive talent pools.
  • Providing mentoring, coaching and advice to key stakeholders regarding best talent acquisition practice and methodologies.
  • Participating in interviews (when possible) and providing advice to Hiring Managers and decision makers within the business regarding the interview process.
  • Provide frontline support throughout the recruitment process including responding to telephone enquiries, managing responses to applications, coordinating interviews and screening
  • Providing data driven advice to Hiring Managers where possible to form decision making (Power BI, statistics, information etc).
  • Ensuring digital technologies are used wherever possible to engage with your customers.
  • Providing an innovative "Optimise where possible" approach to your workplace.
  • Designing, construct and maintain advertising campaigns that meet tactical and strategic business requirements.
  • Reviewing and contribute to policy, procedure and systems thinking enhancements.

About you:

  • Min 3-5 years recruitment experience - (Internal Preferred).
  • Australian Citizen (Due to Defence requirements).
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Min Diploma level preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, trust and reliability and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Out of the box and forward thinking.
  • Passion for innovation and improvement; opportunity finder and issues resolver.
  • Experience in using (or appetite to use) digital platforms to optimise process.
  • Experience in Technical Recruitment - Defence, Engineering and or Technical Trade disciplines preferred.
  • Experienced user of traditional and contemporary advertising channels and approaches.
  • Experiences user Human Resource Management Systems.
  • Experienced user of MS Office programs.
