The Recruitment and Selection team at Ambulance Victoria is experiencing a peak in operational requirements. We currently have 12-month fixed term roles and a Parental Leave cover opportunity, potentially until July 2022. We are seeking experienced internal recruiters with strong behavioural assessment capability to role model Ambulance Victoria's values in every interaction. 

About the role

Reporting to the Lead Recruitment and Selection, the responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): 

  • Coordinating and providing advice to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Managing end-to end business as usual recruitment activity while supporting operational campaigns
  • Video and face-to-face interviewing, preparing interview and selection tools, authoring selection reports and preparing offer documentation
  • Participating in recruitment and selection related projects
  • Assessing at Ambulance Victoria assessment centres
  • Candidate management, ensuring an enhancement of the client and candidate experience where practical

About you

The successful candidates will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related business discipline, as well as demonstrated experience in undertaking both volume and targeted recruitment campaigns, preferably across the public sector. In addition to the end-to-end recruitment experience and behavioural interviewing expertise that are critical to these positions, you will bring a willingness to move between roles and tasks, as operational demands necessitate.

Being a recruitment expert, you will have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and strong placement outcomes. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, as well as the willingness to work remotely when required, are necessary for this role. Although not essential, a background in emergency services operational recruitment would be beneficial and the capacity to design tailored assessment centre tools and selection rubrics would be viewed favourably. As we need you to ‘hit the ground running', confidence using new and varied IT applications and previous use of an e-recruitment system are requirements.

This position is graded at AV3. The AV grade salary range for an AV3 position is $77,620 - $91,853 plus 9.5% superannuation. Ambulance Victoria's expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position. In addition to generous leave entitlements, successful full-time candidates will also receive ADOs (accrued days off) and the remuneration advantages that apply with salary packaging options.

The successful candidates must have a current Victorian Driver's Licence and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required. You will also need to undergo a Police Check and consent to pre-employment screening in alignment with Victorian Public Sector Commission guidelines.

The role will initially involve working from home but attendance at our Headquarters in Doncaster will also be a work requirement. You will need an ergonomically suitable workspace at home and the capacity to conduct online interviews which present Ambulance Victoria professionally.
