The Payroll and Workforce Data team within PWS is responsible for end-to-end payroll including; taxation, superannuation, salary sacrifice, processing of timesheets (manual and electronic), and the provision of high-quality advice to a range of stakeholders both internal and external. 

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll and Workforce Data, this role is ultimately accountable for driving performance, payroll reform activities, process improvements and enhancing payroll knowledge and capability across the department.

You will lead develop the Payroll Operations team to deliver efficient and professional end to end payroll services in a high output environment whilst providing authoritative, strategic and innovative advice to staff and senior management on remuneration and benefits issues. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will be a senior payroll professional with significant operations experience in payroll management and administration within a large and complex organisation. You will be a leader and mentor of people and be able to build solid working relationships with stakeholders at all levels across a large and diverse environment.

You will demonstrate a high-level understanding of the legislative and industrial framework that applies to Victorian public servants, including the Public Administration Act 2004, the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Victorian Public Sector Agreement 2016.

Critical to success will be your highly developed interpersonal skills, accuracy and analytical ability and capacity to successfully navigate industrial matters.
