JOB DESCRIPTION

About Orange Sky Australia

Orange Sky (OS) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the provision of free laundry and showers to people experiencing homelessness. We're growing, and fast. Since 2014, we've expanded our reach to every capital city in Australia and most recently, across the waters to New Zealand too.

Through a network of vans and with the help of over 1,700 volunteers across Australia and New Zealand, our mobile service is a catalyst for positive, genuine conversation. We’re driven, dedicated, insanely ambitious and a little unconventional. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work hard and ‘get it done’, but always make time to celebrate each other’s success.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this senior position is responsible for delivering effective, efficient and innovative human resources solutions in line with the strategic direction of Orange Sky.

In this stand-alone role, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the setting of the People & Engagement (P&E) strategy in consultation with the CFO and Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensuring a working environment which contributes positively to peoples’ creativity, wellbeing, and attitude
  • Ensuring reward, recognition, talent, and performance management processes engender a culture of excellence
  • Championing the employee experience, embedding a culture of collaboration, ownership, accountability, and responsibility across the teams, through effective employee engagement
  • Leveraging best practice to support the uplift of capability, performance, and engagement
  • Using data analytics and personal insights to improve performance, engagement, and the employee experience
  • Providing advice and support with conflict resolution as required
  • Continual improvement of HR practices & policies
  • Identifying opportunities and gaps in Volunteer lifecycle management and applying your subject matter expertise to addressing these

Convinced this is the role for you? Tick some boxes!

To be successful, you’ll bring strong generalist HR experience in a comparable not-for-profit or private sector organisation.

  • Sound understanding of Australian and New Zealand workplace legislation and regulations
  • Sound judgement and ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work ethically at all times
  • Personal commitment to improving knowledge and skills
  • Ability to interact positively with management, employees and volunteers at all levels
