About the role

Providing guidance, support and recommendations for the resolution of critical and complex employee relations activities, you will provide consultation and coaching to employees and managers on employee related areas such as (but not limited to):

  • Act as a SME across the people and culture team on ER / case matters including developing and maintaining a core library of consistent case management templates and tools, engaging in case reviews, Award Management and relevant ER-focused projects, assessing business alignment to legislation and expectations
  • Coach, counsel, and guide leaders through employee performance and conduct matters, using consistent tools and approaches and in consultation with the People and Culture Business Partners as required
  • Disciplinaries, terminations and conflict resolution
  • Provide insights and analysis to the People and Culture Business Partner roles about issue trends or opportunities for broader upskilling of leadership capabilities across relevant areas of the business

You will be required to build strong partnerships and work closely with all levels of management, the broader HR team and key Internal and External Stakeholders with the goal to drive high employee engagement and support resolution. Alongside the day to day elements of the role you will be building preventative mechanisms using data and insights from case trends to increase the capability of leaders, people managers and HR team members in areas of employee relations through education and coaching.

About you
You are an experienced HR professional with demonstrated experience working in an Employee Relations and/or HR Business Partner role with a heavy emphasis on ER. You will have a combination of legal and business acumen, empathy and practical lens for effective resolution of employee relations matters.
In addition you will:

  • Have a strong understanding of regional employment law and employment practices
  • Be experienced in leading multiple, concurrent, high-priority employee relations activities with a focus on timely and consistent execution
  • Demonstrate effective influencing skills to provide resolution to complex and highly sensitive employee relations issues
  • Have the ability to resolve complex problems and effectively communicate rationale with key stakeholders
  • Have the ability to anticipate potential issues and diagnose root cause through active listening and inquiry
