We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely with government, industry, consumer, and stakeholder groups to create standards that shape and improve the lives of all Australians. Standards Australia (SA) is experiencing an exciting period of growth embarking on a number of new projects, which would see our current team of 200+ employees grow substantially in 2021. We are developing new and exciting Standards in the areas of artificial intelligence, smart cities, and supporting resilient communities. 

About the Role 


This is a 12 Month Fixed term Contract role as a Talent Acquisition Officer (TAO) you will develop and deliver an employee attraction and employee brand strategy for SA.


It is essential that the TAO:


• Develops an understanding of the business, its objectives, strategies, challenges and operational arrangements

• Develops effective and cooperative relationships to support and enable a productive and positive work environment


Key Responsibilities 


• Provide consultation and education on the hiring process and the external employment market

• Manage the recruitment database (JobAdder) to ensure SA remains compliant in the use of candidate information and all recruitment activity is accurately documented in real-time

• Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs

• Develop effective and cooperative relationships with managers to support and enable a productive and positive work environment

• Determine and provide coaching on selection criteria

• Source potential candidates through online channels and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments, introduction days and in-person behavioural interviews

• Review the recruitment process to ensure it remains streamlined and efficient

• Design job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements

• Promote and support the maintenance of SA’s Capability Framework

• Lead employer branding initiatives

• Attend job fairs, networking and recruitment events

• Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by department

• Foster long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates


What are we looking for? 


• Technology Recruitment experience is a big plus

• Agency recruitment experience is also highly regarded

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent level of experience across required areas of expertise

• Intermediate in Microsoft Office skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Communicate information clearly, concisely and accurately, through the most effective channels

• Effective negotiation skills and sound political judgment to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals and objectives

• Receptive to feedback and continual improvement

• Excellent technology skills

• In-depth knowledge of JobAdder
