The Role
Ventia in partnership with the Australian Defence Force are currently seeking an experienced Safety Health Environment and Quality Advisor (SHEQ) to deliver systems and process to foster an integrated approach to SHEQ management in delivering on legal, contractual and business requirements. This position will see you in a full time - fixed term (6 months) position based at Woomera and other SA Defence bases as required.

Responsibilities will include butnot limited to;

Inform and implement Safety Management Plans across the project
Adhere with legislations, regulations and standards and that all activities on the project are undertaken in a safe manner, and with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation
Undertake aspects of Environment and Quality function
Undertake investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team. Engaging with Ventia SHEQ were appropriate.
Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are maintained and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements
Ensuring that the Ventia “Critical Risk Protocols” are embedded in the project through Leaders.
Promoting the participation of all people in achieving a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment
Develop and deliver safety related training when required including new starter induction, tool box talks and pre start meetings

Skills and Qualifications

Diploma in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality Equivalent
Formal training in incident investigation
Have suitable experience as a safety professional in industrial safety and possess the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture
Ability to implement and manage a collaborative workplace culture
Demonstrated experience in safety / environment / quality or relevant industry role
Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a utility or infrastructure project environment
Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.
