Create and lead strategy for graduate/employment programs for major VPS body | 6 month VPS5 contract


Your new company
Our client manages one of the largest infrastructure projects in Victoria, improving the safety of the community, and supporting the major functioning of the Victorian transport network. You will take on a strategic standalone role in which you are tasked with developing a coherent plan for the organisations graduate and employment programs. This six-month contract role will see you develop employment programs and in turn make a positive impact on the future workforce of this Victorian employer.

Your new role
As an integral part of the People & Culture team, you will be placed in the Employee Experience function. In this standalone role you will report to the manager of the function, with the support of a graduate to create, roll out and ensure the success of the organisations graduate and employment programs. This role will see you work closely with a variety of senior stakeholders (Directors, General Manager’s etc) and teams within the organisation to influence their graduate and employment program decisions. This role will also see you:

  • Successfully leading and delivering high quality employment programs particularly in line with the graduate program;
  • Driving and undertaking all employment program recruitment activities, including induction and development;
  • Guiding a strong employer brand;
  • Fostering strong relationships to build a pipeline of talent for the industry;
  • Providing high level, specialist advice and guidance on employment programs and pathways;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with a range of key stakeholders;
  • Cultivating a culture within the organisation that embraces the objectives of, and continues to enhance the employment programs.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you be autonomous, resilient, adaptable, organised and will have;
  • High-level communication skills with an ability to influence and negotiate outcomes with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the design, implementation and delivery of graduate and employment programs (preferably in government, construction, or similar industries);
  • Extensive experience in recruitment, learning and development and/or organisational development.
