About the Role

A full time opportunity has become available for an experienced and capable Human Resource Officer to join ACC’s HR team on the AM shift, conveniently located at Cannon Hill - just 10 minutes east of Brisbane’s CBD. A critical element of this role is to ensure all documentation and processes are compliant with relevant industry and regulatory requirements, ACC standards, and to provide general support to the HR & Operations teams.

Reporting to the Cannon Hill Operations HR Manager, this role is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing recommendations and advice that is compliant with relevant employment legislation, awards, industrial instruments and company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain consistency, alignment and cooperation with alternate Shift HR Officer and broader HR team.
  • Response to queries, interpretation & application of policy, Manage grievances & complaints; ill & injured employees.
  • As required to support the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with payroll to resolve pay discrepancies.
  • Supplying reports to production departments for absenteeism.
  • Supporting the operational teams.
  • Training administration, documentation, and data entry.
  • The creation and distribution of Toolbox Talks as requested from Production.
  • Drafting letters and employment checks as requested.
  • Organising and entering induction information for newstarters and contractors.

About You

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in a similar role, be able to work autonomously, and have a natural ability to organise and prioritise tasks. They will also have the following qualifications / attributes:

  • Minimum of a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management OR a similar field of business, psychology or a related field;
  • Ability to understand, interpret and practically apply principals of relevant employment legislation, awards and industrial agreements
  • Highly developed communication skills to coach, influence, mediate and to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Sound and objective judgement and decision making
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships
  • Works effectively under pressure
  • Is resilient and bounces back from set backs
  • Ability to communicate, build rapport and gain confidence across a diverse workforce group
  • Experience with time and attendance system Kronos would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • Well-developed written and numeracy skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer literacy – intermediate to advanced Microsoft office with ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Ability to present confidently and articulately in a manner to suit the audience
  • Fluent second language advantageous
