Purpose of the Role

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for end-to-end recruitment for the Defence and Security Australia business Unit. You will develop and implement proactive strategies for sourcing talent and building our talent pipeline.

Partnering with hiring managers, you will work to attract high quality talent, building strong talent pipelines to meet hiring requirements, advise on recruitment best practice, and devise initiatives to build a strong employer brand.

Responsibilities and Tasks

As Talent Acquisition Specialist you will:
Liaise with key stakeholders to gain insight into the short/medium/long term business needs and provide strategic recruitment advice
Be responsible for the day-to day delivery of the entire recruitment process through from advertising to offer negotiation
Manage talent pools to ensure candidates remain engaged in current or future opportunities and the talent pipeline continues to meet future workforce demand
Actively promoting employer branding activities across BMT;
Create monthly reports on key talent acquisition metrics utilising available data and statistical methods to inform stakeholders for decision making purposes;
Produce innovative ways for addressing talent acquisition challenges and proactively seek market intelligence to attract and source candidates
Use social media networks to access and attract talent;
Provide advice regarding current talent acquisition best practice and methodologies.

Key Knowledge and Skills

Minimum 5 years recruitment experience working in a similar role in the defence industry
Experience with managing and shaping social media recruiting activities and campaigns
Familiarity with recruitment software, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems; preferably Taleo
Highly commercial, with proven relationship management and influencing skills across a broad range of stakeholders
Exceptional communication, organisation, and time management skills
