The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is a State Government statutory authority governed by the Victorian Planning Authority Act 2017. Our focus is on integrated land use, built form and infrastructure planning outcomes for significant precincts and places in growing Victorian cities, suburbs and regions. We collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to deliver the Victorian Government's planning policies in support of urban growth, housing, jobs and transport options. The VPA are looking for an experienced energetic and self-driven HR Business Partner to join our People and Culture team. You will play a critical role in our small team of four in actively supporting the business with day to day operational requirements and in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives from our three-year People and Culture Plan.

As a key point of contact for people managers and employees, you will have exposure to tasks across the employee lifecycle and will work closely with the Manager of People & Culture in driving the people agenda for the organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be hands on to building the capabilities of our workforce and driving cultural change. There are interesting and evolving HR initiatives around diversity and inclusion, innovation and change, and health and wellbeing, that this role will have a key position to be contributing to and driving.

We are ideally looking for someone to professionally partner the business, take initiative, problem solve and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities, Overview

  • Effectively advising on VPA's enterprise agreement and other legislative requirements
  • Developing policy and procedures to support effective process improvement
  • Managing employee grievances and related underperformance processes
  • Analysing workforce data and providing workforce reports with tailored insights
  • Supporting the development and implementation of initiatives in line with the VPA strategic Plan and People and Culture Plan
