With over half a century operating in their industry, our client is a leading marketing and logistics agribusiness, servicing their industry throughout the New South Wales and Southern Queensland. From humble beginnings as a co-operative, the company has grown and progressed to a more corporate structure, ultimately listing on the Australian Stock Exchange, and are now preparing for signification transformational change to create a long-term sustainable future within their industry.

In an effort to drive cultural change throughout the organisation and provide holistic support to both the leadership and the wider team, the company now seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual in the role of Executive General Manager People and Culture.

Reporting to the CEO, the EGM People and Culture, will be tasked with helping to source, develop, motivate and retain great people for the organisation. You will act as a champion for the company culture, and support the executive and managers in the delivery of transformational change programs and processes throughout the company. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership of the workplace health and safety throughout the company’s operations.

The Position:
Work with the Executive leadership team, to collaboratively design and execute the long-term vision for all People and Culture functions to support the organisation in achieving the overall business goals;
Support the ‘refresh’ of the company’s core values and ensure that all decisions, programs, and processes are aligned with the culture and core beliefs;
Work closely with the Executive leadership team to support the delivery of new products, services and or initiatives with minimal impact to staff;
Partner with leaders to understand and anticipate hiring and development needs against the capabilities needed in their departments to deliver key performance indicators;
Support the WHSE Manager to develop, implement safe work programs, policies and prevention initiatives driving compliance and reporting of hazards to ensure personal safety (physical and mental) as well as the health (mental and physical) and wellbeing of staff;
Execute company-wide performance management programs that help to identify high and low performers and drive continuous, transparent feedback to support performance improvement;
Liaise with the CFO to implement and embed a newly developed and unbiased, competitive staff compensation plan to ensure the company can attract and retain the best talent;
Partner with the Executive Leadership team to cultivate leadership development and effectiveness;
Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to source and implement P&C Systems.

The Person:
Tertiary qualifications in a human resource related discipline, together with at least 10 plus years in a hands-on Human Resources and People management roles
Minimum 5 years’ experience leading People/HR/Talent teams;
Track record of successful leadership of a Workplace Health and Safety function within a manufacturing or industrial environment;
Proven success in developing and delivering high-impact people programs across performance management, employee and leadership learning and development, team engagement and team retention;
Expert knowledge in the area of workplace health and safety, together with a demonstrated track record of success in the leadership of this function;
Demonstrated high level emotional intelligence, empathy, persistence and resilience;
Able to challenge traditional ways of doing things - build a unique approach to support organisational culture;
Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and staff;
Working knowledge of effective HRIS systems.
