Hays Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation in the recruitment of a Senior HR Generalist based in Bendigo. This is a newly created position reporting into the Program Manager of Business Services.

Your new role
This role provides generalist human resources support to staff, members and management. The position will report to the Program Manager Business Services but is a stand-alone HR role, with the support of the Senior Management Team. In this role you will operate as a true HR Advisor and provide best practice HR advice and support to managers and employees at all levels in the areas of Organisational Development, Recruitment and Selection, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations and Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety. In essence you will be responsible for the design and oversight of the complete HR lifecycle for the organisation. This is a hands-on role supporting daily HR matters, formulating policies and procedures and implementing strategic programs. A full position description is available.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the role you will need to have demonstrated the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar HR generalist or business partnering role
  • Sound understanding of employment law practices and regulations, and comprehensive understanding of IR/ER legislation and HR Processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Sound HR administrative skills and computer literacy, including the ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities.
  • Be a team player who is hands-on, with a can-do attitude, who is able to hit the ground running.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage training and licence requirements and compliance obligations.
  • A current Australian Driver’s License.
