Naval Group Australia (NGA) is seeking a suitably experienced Workplace Health, Safety & Environment (WHS&E) Lead to join the Attack Class submarine program, the largest and most ambitious defence acquisition program Australia has ever undertaken. Professional challenges don’t come any bigger than this!

In this newly created role, you’ll support the Submarine Construction Yard Operations Team to embed a strong safety culture during a period of substantial growth. Working under the broad direction of the WHS&E Operations Manager, you work collaboratively to develop and implement programs and initiatives that are aligned to our WHS&E strategy whilst providing advice, mentoring and coaching on best practice solutions to prevent incidents, achieve WHS&E targets and ensure the future Submarine Constriction Yard is established Safely.

More specifically, you will:
Provide expert WHS&E direction and support to Naval Group Australia business groups with a primary focus on the Future Submarine Construction Yard
Lead on the WHS&E advice and support into the requirements, selection, installation, commissioning and operational use of the high-risk plant and equipment for the Future Submarine Construction Yard
Lead on the implementation and delivery of the WHS&E Management System, including documentation, processes and tools to meet the required business HSE framework
Lead the implementation and delivery of information, systems and processes to meet regulatory reporting requirements for safety
Lead on the implementation and delivery of information, systems and processes to meet internal company and customer contractual reporting requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have:
Formal qualifications in a WHS&E field and demonstrable experience in a similar high-risk environment
Experienced Lead ICAM Investigator
Significant exposure and knowledge of applicable Australian and International Standards
Significant experience in developing initiatives to achieve a business HSE strategy

You must be eligible to attain an NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance. (Please visit the ASGVA website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/factsheets-forms.asp for further information relating to obtaining and maintaining a security clearance).

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is applicable and as such your nationality may be a factor in establishing your suitability for this role.
