This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Office Manager with HR experience to join a fantastic law firm.

The Company

Operating for over 15 years and employing over 30 people, this specialist migration law firm has built a solid reputation as a leader in their space. Their state-of-the-art office is based in the inner west near public transport, caf?s, restaurants and has scenic views on level 5. The company deals with skilled migration, student visas, family/ partner migration, business migration and migration appeals and litigation for a wide range of clientele. They have a vibrant office culture and strong staff retention.
The role

As part of the senior management team, this role will see you handle staff and HR-related responsibilities such as:

  • Supervise administration team and paralegals.
  • Staff recruitment, liaise with external recruitment agents, liaise with candidates, review awards and salaries, liaise with partners.
  • Review and manage leave requests, annual leave entitlements and liaise with partners.
  • Attend to staff issues.
  • Prepare employment contracts for all staff, including internal office and ATO forms.
  • Prepare and co-ordinate roster in line with COVID19 restrictions.
  • Coordinating housekeeping duties.
  • Liaise with building management and lodge issues as required through Concept-reach.
  • Offering new ideas to progress the practice.
  • Oversee OHS compliance and wellness and work life balance processes.
  • Implementing initiatives and an incentive program for progression of lawyers and staff.
  • Development and marketing / supervision of website and social media.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation (via Review existing and creation of new policies.)
  • Plan training for the year ahead in consultation with partners

About You

To be successful you will need to be an experienced Office Manager who has worked in the legal sector, with HR experience. You will be able to deal with a wide range of people in a timeline driven environment and be extremely organised. Given the office is based in the inner west you will ideally be based in the CBD, northern, or western suburbs of Melbourne. You will ideally be proficient with MYOB, have used LEAP (or a similar doc management system) and be able to bring new policies/ procedures to improve staff experiences to the table.
