We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager People & Performance to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager Business Excellence, this position supports Council's direction by managing the People and Performance team. This role is tasked with effectively managing human resources, industrial relations, training, payroll, safety, organisational development and the governance function through the provision of specialist advice to the Senior Management Team and Council.

This role includes a wide variety of duties, which include:
Developing and implementing organisational development plans
Leading the organisation in providing best practice HR and performance initiatives
Developing the systems and practices of the organisation including the Health & Wellbeing Management plan
Recruitment of staff across the organisation
Providing advice on legislation
Compiling regular progress reports

This is a high level leadership role, and as such, we are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of human resource management principles and practices, knowledge of WHS legislative requirements, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

To succeed in this role, you will have a relevant qualification in Human Resource Management, and demonstrated experience in the industry including end-to-end recruitment, performance management, industrial relations, staff retention and training. You will also have a high level of communication and report writing skills, computer literacy and a mature, balanced and informed approach to problem-solving. Whilst experience working in local government would be considered advantageous, it is not essential for the role.
