Our highly diverse and multi-disciplinary team combines deep subject matter expertise, strategic thinking, and data and technology to meet the diverse and fast-evolving needs of our clients. Through our services, we help our clients understand, engage with and act on their HSE risks and opportunities.

Our National specialist HSE Team is a key part of Sustainability and Climate Change Practice within our Risk Advisory Service Line. Deloitte’s holistic approach to HSE means we create the right level of oversight and awareness of the true performance of organizational HSE. We help our clients meet their HSE responsibilities, protect people and profits, and create sustainable, long-term improvements in environment, health, safety, mental health, and wellbeing performance.

Our Practice’s experience and expertise spans Environmental, Social and Governance (or “ESG”) Strategy, Impact Measurement, Climate Risk and Strategy, Work Health and Safety, Crisis Management and Resilience, Risk Culture, Human Rights and Ethics, across a range of assurance and advisory client engagements.

About Our Health, Safety, And Environment Work

As a Manager focused on HSE consulting work, you will be working with a variety of blue chip, federal and state government clients, helping them clarify and shape what better HSE practice means for their business and respond to stakeholder and regulatory pressures and expectations.

  • Strategy development, planning and implementation
  • Advice/consulting
  • Risk assurance
  • Assessments, inspections, and audits
  • Analytics
  • Risk profiling and benchmarking
  • Safety culture leadership and change
  • People engagement programs

Enough About Us, Let’s Talk About You

As an HSE Manager your combined structured thinking, subject matter expertise and passion for the field will help shape opportunities, support sales and lead end-to-end project delivery. You will need to:
  • Be passionate about safeguarding people and the environment
  • Have 5-8 years of prior consulting or industry experience across one or all areas of HSE
  • Be self-driven, intellectually curious, resourceful and flexible
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills (including report and strategy deck writing experience)
  • Apply structured problem-solving, technical skills and knowledge to design project approach and lead others in delivery
  • Be responsible for managing project risks and financials
  • Coach others and establish effective working environments for their teams
  • Lead proposal development and identify, escalate and shape opportunities
  • Have a strong track record of generating opportunities and converting into projects
  • Have extensive knowledge of contemporary HSE legislation, regulations, codes of practice and management systems as well as digital platforms and solutions in the new world of work
  • Demonstrate an understanding of HSE trends and how they interconnect among themselves and with audit and compliance, strategy and business models
  • Sector experience in Mining and or Manufacturing would also be considered advantageous for this role.
