JOB DESCRIPTION

O'Brien Electrical Mount Gambier are currently seeking a WHS/HR Officer to join our customer focused team. Known for our strong culture of employee welfare, safety and quality, we are seeking a candidate who will support our culture. Working directly with the senior management team, you will evaluate, develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to support our team through training and mentoring.

The position is part-time (24 hours/week), and you will have the opportunity to work within our existing teams with the mandate to develop best practices delivering HR and WHSE compliance in written and on-the-job formats. There is an option for hours to be flexible and/or a portion to be done from home.

About You

We are looking for a confident leader who has experience in developing and establishing effective HR practices with effective knowledge of safety and injury management systems for a diverse organisation.

To be successful in the role you will also have experience in the provision of service in human resource management and a practical knowledge of Work Health and Safety risk management as such, you ideally will have the following skills:

  • End to end recruitment (Screen, interview and reference check candidates)
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction processes
  • Triage employee HR queries
  • Maintenance of employee files and HR reporting
  • Training coordination and administration
  • Delivery and support of a WHS&E Management System, including documentation, processes and tools to meet the required framework.
  • Implementation and delivery of information, systems, audits and processes to meet regulatory reporting requirements for safety and internal company and customer contractual reporting requirements.

Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role and hold the following:

  • Previous experience in a HR Administrator, Recruitment or HR Coordinator role or relevant HR qualifications.
  • Certificate IV in WHS and/or documented experience in WHS&E
  • You are motivated by building collaborative connections with our internal staff and external clients
  • You have the desire to make your mark within a growing brand
  • Ability to work in cloud based systems
  • Experience working autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team with a dedicated approach
