Role Summary

As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. Role Description & Responsibilities

The Team Member, Band 5 position sits within the Human Resources portfolio of ACT Policing and provides assistance in a range of HR related services to support ACT Policing and wider AFP outcomes.

The primary responsibilities of the HR Advisor, ACT Policing include:

Developing and managing relationships with relevant stakeholders;
Providing accurate and timely advice on a range of general and complex HR issues to ACT Policing Executive, ACT Policing Business Area Superintendents and Coordinators, Inspectors and Team Leaders, and ACT Policing employees;
Researching, interpreting and drafting briefs for Executive consideration;
Assisting with the development and implementation of HR initiatives;
Providing analysis of HR reports to relevant business areas;
Monitoring and managing compliance of the AFPs industrial framework;
Providing advice and guidance on ACT Policing recruitment processes to relevant business areas;
Assisting in providing cost effective options for the provision of staffing for ACT Community events within the constraints of the AFP’s Enterprise Agreement;
Guiding and mentoring of team members;
Anticipating and adapting to changing priorities;
Managing ad hoc HR projects and priorities as required.
Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Additional Requirements

Ability to demonstrate excellent team work and customer service skills
Ability to work dynamically and flexibly within a team to respond to tight deadlines
Experience in in payroll or rostering environment is highly desirable
