Ordinary hours of work:

You are required to work 38 hours per week, plus all such reasonable additional hours as may be required to properly perform your duties in accordance with this agreement or as directed by the board. In addition to ordinary hours of work, you are expected to attend the biannual strategy gathering.

About the role: 

The National HR Lead is a true HR generalist supporting a variety of functions including recruitment, payroll, policy and procedure, strategy, projects, and employee relations issues. They work closely with our National Managers to ensure all staffing protocol, payroll and employee relations issues are resolved in an ethical and timely manner as per our internal procedures.

Working closely with the National HR Manager, they take the lead on all HR and staffing initiatives nationally and act as a support person, helping those in need, at every level. This position is integral to the delivery of professional and effective HR services across the business.

They bring a common-sense and mature approach to handling all employee-related matters whilst remaining impartial, discreet and confidential. They are approachable, have strong attention to detail with administrative tasks, bring a collaborative approach to work and are strategic-minded. Above all, our National HR Lead is not the fun police, but there to enhance our employees experience at work.

The purpose of the role:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process for the Hub Australia team national, including developing position descriptions, advertising roles, screening applicants, interviewing prospective candidates, the offer process, reference checks and contract creation.
  • The management of all employee-related matters including but not limited to performance management, disciplinary procedures, terminations and grievances.
  • Take ownership of the monthly and fortnightly payroll processes, including making all necessary adjustments, submission to ATO, and approval process with CFO, CEO and Accounts Team
  • Complete and submit Superannuation for the business
  • Facilitate regular meetings with all of our Managers and Partners to provide support and guidance on all staffing related issues, OH&S Risk Assessments protocols, any employee relation issues, and other miscellaneous HR requests
  • Various HR administrative tasks including but not limited to: ensuring all employee records are kept up to date, monthly HR metrics reporting, reviewing month-end and processing employee benefits
  • Work with the HR Manager and National Training & Impact Lead to build, develop and implement policies, procedures and practices to ensure consistency and compliance across the business
  • Comply with and interpret employment-related legislation
  • Lead initiatives and projects to help the team engage more in their work and drive greater enjoyment from their experience at Hub
  • Supporting the HR Manager in a multitude of staff-based projects through administration, people coordination, event management and project delivery
  • Ensure all HR templates, collateral and policies are current and up to date

Key skills & experience:

  • At least 3 years in an HR generalist role
  • Experience with coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes including recruiting for a multitude of roles across various disciplines and up to 10 positions at a time
  • Previous experience in payroll administration is a must (experience in KeyPay / Employment Hero highly regarded)
  • Previous experience leading, investigating and resolving employee relations matters;
  • Previous experience providing general HR advice to management positions within an organisation;
  • A professional approach to dealing with issues of a confidential nature;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume and dynamic environment;
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills;
  • A demonstrated people-first mindset, our team members are our customers.
