The Role

Seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources (HR) Advisor, a genuine people person with excellent communications and negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail.

There will be a strong focus on stakeholder engagement. We are a multi-disciplinary, self-performing contractor company, meaning this role will get to work directly with our various business divisions from Mining, Civil and Engineering, Construction, through to Asset Services and Manufacturing.

This will be a national role based out of Subiaco WA supporting both HR Managers and working closely with the broader HR team, this role will be integral in providing support, assistance and advice to Managers across Australia on all matters pertaining to Human Resources and Industrial Relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate advice on common law contracts, enterprise agreements and modern awards.
  • Coach and support line mangers on performance management, counselling and disciplinary action.
  • Participate in and lead investigations pertaining to employee relations issues.
  • Actively support the mobilisation of new contracts by attracting and retaining key employees.
  • Assist with the review and improvement of current HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in redeployment, termination and redundancy processes.
  • Support and facilitate the implementation of scheduled HR activities, i.e. annual performance reviews.
  • Maintain employee records and associated HR systems.
  • Proactively coach and mentor other HR team members.
  • Contribute to the accurate delivery of monthly HR reporting.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Experience within the mining or construction industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar role, including recruitment experience.
  • Minimum Cert IV in HR, or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field is desirable.
  • Experience in management of multiple EBA’s and their associated negotiations would be highly regarded.
  • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills and ability to multi task.
  • Excellent computer and software skills; Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current employment relations legislation.
