About Our Client

This role is working for a leading consulting business within their Sydney office (you must be able to travel out to Parramatta).

You will report in to both the WHS Manager and the HR Director and will liaise with senior internal stakeholders across multiple teams.

Job Description

The HR & Compliance specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Being able to advise on Industrial Instruments - interpreting Modern Awards, Fair Work and everything under the National Employment Standards.
  • Ensuring all contractors are compliant working alongside our global compliance team.
  • Work closely with Payroll to ensure all payment classifications are current and compliant.
  • Assisting HR with any compliance related queries and complaints.
  • Work alongside the WHS teams, overseeing work rights, referencing, qualifications and licensing are monitored - adapting to local legislation requirements.
  • Documentation and Legislative Updates
  • Work with stakeholders for training purposes and providing updates on changes made to Modern Awards as per Fair Work.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Compliance & HR specialist will need to be able to demonstrate the following during the interview process:

  • Degree educated in a relevant field (HR/Commerce/Finance)
  • Confident in their knowledge of modern awards - must have worked with multiple awards throughout their career.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role (HR/compliance/payroll).
  • Experience setting up new awards and testing end to end
  • Stakeholder management skills, working across all business levels.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines in a team environment and autonomously
