Job Description

As Employee Relations & Benefits Manager

You lead and manage the Employee Relations (ER) Framework according to Local Legislation as well as H&M standards, policies and procedures. By driving the total rewards strategy you ensure that our Team Members feel rewarded through a competitive and attractive compensation and benefits package. Together with the Country HR Manager you drive initiatives to support Team Experience and Team Member satisfaction. You also have a strong interest in I&D initiatives.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Continue to embed the existing ER Framework of tools, resources, policies and templates to ensure a risk averse strategy to all Team Member related matters & Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Provide accurate and technical advice to Line Managers on operational matters such as performance management, misconduct, termination, personal illness, discrimination/harassment and disputes as well as important policies/procedures.
  • Be the first point of contact with the relevant Union Associations
  • Represent the company in all Fair Work conciliations and hearings to come to a resolution. Also other relevant tribunals and legislative bodies such as the Human Rights Commission.
  • Advise Team Members and liaise with external lawyers on immigration issues, and coordinating visa and residency applications.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to wider organisation regarding enterprise agreements, relevant modern awards and legislative obligations and compliance requirements
  • Develop, Implement and maintain all internal Policies on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and effective communication channels (Employee Handbook, Employment Contracts, Internal Policies)
  • Ensure that H&M offers competitive compensation to attract and retain Team Members
  • Ensure all compensation & benefits policies are up-to-date to assist colleagues in their work
  • Review salary bandings and bonus system, ensure that our colleagues are within the correct salary scale and contract conditions

About you:
  • 10 years experience in Human Resources – with experience in Employee Relations
  • Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Law or Employment Relations
  • Strong understanding of Australia and New Zealand employment law
  • Acts as an ambassador for the Company culture and values
  • Exhibits high level of confidentiality and ability to work in diverse environments
  • Strong leadership skills
