A rare opportunity exists for a Human Resources Officer to join the team at our Aquila mine site in Middlemount. The Aquila project is an underground hard coking coal mine, which will extend the life of Anglo American’s existing Capcoal underground operations by six years, to 2028. As the largest underground coal miner in Australia, we are leveraging the innovative work already under way at our existing mine sites and scaling the development of new technologies in our operations. The Aquila project is a further demonstration of our commitment to the Australian metallurgical coal business, and the Central Queensland communities where we operate.
Job Description
  • You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the mine's Human Resources performance targets and assist in governing the application of corporate and site Human Resources systems in this true hands on Human Resources Generalist role. You will be able to showcase your skill sets in this role that will challenge you and grow your potential through:
Providing support to employees and managers with general HR and payroll enquiries and resolves issues and problems.
Effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, initiatives and programs at Aquila Mine.
Building and fostering collaborative relationships whilst managing the Human Resources plans and key performance indicators.
Support with advice across a broad spectrum of areas including recruitment, employee relations, HR metrics, and development.
Management of service contractors
Qualifications
  • You will hold degree qualifications in Human Resources, or a related discipline. Exceptional communication skills and ability to negotiate to influence and achieve stakeholder buy in will see you succeed in this role, coupled with a resilient nature, openness for change and demonstrated ability to drive best practice. Whilst experience within the resources industry is desirable it is not mandatory and interested applicants wanting to join the resources industry are strongly encouraged to apply.
This is a Monday-Friday position, based in Middlemount, QLD. DIDO options may be considered for this role.
