The Opportunity


As the Operational Health and Safety Adviser you will work with our Community and Customer Services and Organisational Services Departments to ensure the safe delivery of their business objectives. You will primarily support these Departments delivering health, safety and wellbeing management, compliance and implementation of initiatives to improve health, safety and wellbeing.

Your role will be critical in driving the improvement of Council’s health, safety and wellbeing performance and the ongoing development of our organisational safety culture.

About you

Eligibility requirements


Formal tertiary qualification, at a minimum Bachelor Degree, in occupational health and safety or a related discipline with relevant experience; or an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, professional accreditation and qualification

Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and legislation related to Work health and Safety with minimum five (5) years' experience in health and safety role within a large and complex organisation

AIHS Certified OHS Professional (or eligibility for relevant professional certification)

C Class Drivers Licence
