Apply your talent where it counts as a Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor, in our BAE Systems Maritime Australia team based at the Osborne Naval Shipyard site.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Shipyard Manager, as the SHE Advisor, you will be responsible for providing SHE advice and support to the business. This will include coordinating the implementation, maintenance and compliance of SHE processes and systems.

In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:
Provide advice on SHE processes, business rules, legislation and standards
Coach employees, supervisors, managers and other personnel, in relation to SHE processes
Ensure project compliance with incident reporting requirements, and assist with, or lead incident investigations
Monitor and analyse injury and incident trend data, and recommend and implement actions to counter trends
Support and deliver relevant SHE training and inductions
Identify and implement SHE process and system improvements, and act as the owner for relevant procedures
Assist project personnel to identify SHE hazards and risks for inclusion in SHE risk registers

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Health and Environment or related discipline
Demonstrated experience embedding SHE systems and culture, in an Advisory capacity
Previous investigation experience using ICAM or similar (highly desirable)
Ability to adapt communication and negotiation skills to suit a variety of audiences and stakeholders
Proficient computer skills and ability to use MS Office programs
Applicants must be available to work both day and afternoon shifts
