Job Overview
The team is part of the National Skills Commission, which brings together labour market information to support the government’s response and recovery process to the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensure we position the country to build the workforce of the future to ensure Australia’s ongoing economic prosperity.

The Employment Pathways Analysis Section undertakes research into labour market conditions in industries across Australia. This research is conducted through the Recruitment Experiences and Outlook Survey (REOS). The survey examines employers’ recruitment activities, outcomes, expectations, and needs. The information helps to provide an understanding of how the labour market is performing, where the opportunities are, and to understand what employers are looking for when recruiting. The information is used by policy makers, program providers, and job seekers, providing advice on how they can better meet the needs of employers and improve their employment prospects.

The results from the survey are presented in reports and presentations which are published on the Labour Market Information Portal website.
