An exciting and integral opportunity has become available to join the Urban Utilities Experience Group on a two-year maximum term. The Industrial Relations Specialist will manage and deliver the organisation's Enterprise Agreement negotiations and provide high level expert industrial/employee relations advice.

Reporting to the Chief Experience officer (CXO) this role will contribute to the successful delivery of the Experience Group strategy and program. At a high level, this includes industrial and employee relations strategy, business advisory services, and contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of policies, processes and practices aligned to Urban Utilities' strategy and purpose.

This key role within the Experience team contributes to the experience lifecycle through enterprise leadership, business enablement and continuous enhancement of the Urban Utilities' experience.

Position accountabilities will include:

  • Development and implementation of Urban Utilities' industrial relations direction and strategy;
  • Lead consultations and negotiations of industrial instruments (including enterprise agreements), and develop the general employment terms and conditions, in-line with legislative requirements and consistent with the organisation's values;
  • Provide specialist advice to business and Experience team to enable the implementation of industrial instruments, enterprise policies, guidelines and processes;
  • Act as the escalation point for employee relations cases that present a substantial risk to corporate reputation, ensuring solutions meet the needs of key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Work closely with others across the Experience team to collaboratively develop and implement policies, guidelines and procedures, ensuring effective and legislatively compliant employee relations frameworks and practices;

To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum of seven years experience working in Human Resources with substantial specialist Employee Relations experience, including investigating, preparing and managing complex cases through commission/tribunal hearings.

In addition, the person most suited to this role will be able to demonstrate significant experience in developing and delivering an industrial and employee relations strategy as well as leading and managing all elements of consultation and negotiation of industrial instruments (including enterprise agreements).
