ConnectSydney, a dynamic joint venture between Lendlease, Boral and Johnson Controls, will be delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone in metropolitan Sydney. We are looking for talented, motivated and driven individuals to join the team who will be committed to delivering innovative, customer-focused and sustainable outcomes whilst also establishing a positive legacy for our customers and community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a People & Culture (P&C) Advisor to join our business. The People & Culture (P&C) Advisor will lead the P&C generalist activities within ConnectSydney. The P&C Advisor will support and execute the implementation of P&C programs, processes, systems and policies in line with the People & Culture (P&C) strategy as well as achieve the objectives within the People & Culture Management Plan.

The Role

  • Lead the P&C activities contributing to and supporting the implementation of the P&C programs, policies, processes and systems.

  • Provide advice and support to the Leadership team and People Managers on P&C matters, employee relations and OHS matters, including the interpretation of policies and procedures, relevant Awards and legislation, employment terms and conditions, performance management and conduct issues.

  • Perform day to day operational activities as required to ensure the delivery of effective P&C services to the business.

  • Support the business implementation of P&C initiatives which may include recruitment, performance management, learning & development solutions, process improvement activities etc.

  • Prepare reports, undertake analysis and effectively liaise with other P&C functions as required which may include recruitment, performance management, learning & development, compensation& benefits and P&C operations.

  • Promote and foster a performance culture of accountability and ownership of delivery, championing the company's core values to facilitate continuous improvement learning & performance

  • Provide counselling and support to managers and employees regarding problems affecting work performance

  • Promote the awareness of the EAP and assist employees in need of support

  • Prepare and conduct induction programs for new employees as required and participate in all induction and on-boarding processes.

  • Lead the implementation of training and development initiatives

  • Develop induction and onboarding programs that include Cultural Awareness and Diversity & Inclusion training

The Candidate

  • Post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in HR, IR/ER, Education, Psychology or Business (essential)

  • Post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in HR, IR/ER, Education, Psychology or Business (desirable)

  • 4-5 years’ experience in a People & Culture role

  • Ability to solve problems and identify process improvement

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of national and state regulatory frameworks

  • Knowledge of contractual and commercial awareness

  • Knowledge of employment legislation, including government policy

  • Experience in People & Culture project work, leading an initiative or desired outcome
