An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced HSE leader to join our Leadership team!

The HSE Manager - Vic/Sa/Tas is a corporate role and is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support to a portfolio of teams across the organisation. Your relationship management skills across a broad stakeholder group with your ability to influence and build credibility through collaboration will be highly regarded, as will your ability to show innovation and flair within contemporary Health, Safety & Environment Systems.

Working regularly with the executive team of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmanian and the broader business, this internal facing role offers a combination of responsibility, stakeholder engagement and implementation of initiatives, and will see you involved in:

  • Promoting a strong safety culture - compliance with the HSE system and legal requirements, change management, implementation of targeted programs, coaching of management and staff to achieve continual improvement targets
  • Improving systems and initiatives, look for improvements, deliver locally
  • Leading and managing a team of HSE professionals across three regions
  • The development of the strategic HSE business plan and national/corporate HSE Management Systems and initiatives for the regions, responsible for delivering these locally.
  • Engagement - establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels across our business.
What would you bring to the team?
  • Significant experience (at least 10yrs+) in leading and continually improving HSE across a large, multi-site organization. Exposure to a design consultancy is desirable
  • Diploma in a Health and Safety related discipline or suitable professional qualifications
  • Excellent stakeholder and interpersonal skills, with exceptional verbal and written communication with the ability to develop lasting relationships.
  • Strong ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders and influence at different levels of an organisation to improve safety culture and performance
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on HSE initiatives and undertaking HSE inspections and incident investigations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to manage a team across regions
  • An ability to exercise sound judgement and decisiveness with problem solving
