We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR Services function based in Karawatha, QLD. This 12 month fixed term contract requiring the skills and expertise of a seasoned HR professional, adept at managing a high volume division with a diverse portfolio of work. 

The purpose of the HR Advisor role is to provide comprehensive operational HR services to managers and staff for the GE Palletised express business units within QLD. Your remit will be to coach and provide day to day support to local managers on people issues including: general HR policy/legislation, Performance Management process (including PAR, poor performance and misconduct ), compensation process, recognition of service awards, and termination process including redundancies;

As the HR Advisor, you will:

  • Assist with managing grievances and manage/conduct investigations where required as per the relevant Policies & Standards;
  • Provide ad hoc support / advice / guidance to employees when required and escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide advice to Managers and Employees and follow up as necessary regarding flexible workplace arrangements
  • Provide change management activities when rolling out new HR processes or initiatives.
  • Provide the business with information to ensure compliance and people management practices are executed. 
  • Administer high volumes of documentation.


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Preferably a tertiary qualification in HR or a business-related discipline.
  • More that 3 yrs experience in a similar HR role.
  • Ability to work with HR systems and the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • To be agile and adaptive to change.
  • Possess superior stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement & commercial acumen.
  • Work simultaneously on multiple issues, priorities and allocate resources.
