Senior Organisational Development Consultant

  • Annual Salary Range: $101,120 - $122,348 per annum plus superannuation
  • Tenure: Fixed Term (12 months)
  • Employment Type: Full Time/ flexible
  • Usual Work Location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

About the Opportunity

The Department of Transport have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Organisational Development Specialist to join the People and Business Services division.

The Senior Organisational Development Consultant will work with the Manager Organisational Development to implement the enterprise wide talent management framework as well as design, develop and deploy a number of group-wide organisational development and culture initiatives. Taking the lead on small to medium sized culture and development projects, this person will work in consultation with key stakeholders to ensure interventions deliver upon the People and Culture and Group strategies.

In this newly created and hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of culture and development initiatives including talent, organisational values, culture, leadership, capability development and change.

What we're looking for in a successful candidate

This role would suit an experienced Organisational Development Advisor/Specialist who is looking for a role where you will be exposed to a range of best-in-class OD approaches and methodologies. You can expect a fast-paced working environment, where there is balanced focus on the achievement of objectives and high-quality support for people to develop and grow.

To be successful you will ideally have:

  • Experience in providing high level consultancy and advice to managers and team members on a range of people matters.
  • Ability to identify organisational development needs and respond with targeted strategic and integrated interventions.
  • Demonstrated capability to design, facilitate and implement programs, workshops and activities that promote effective development of leaders and teams.
  • Experience in designing and implementing enterprise wide approaches to talent identification and development.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to progress work and engagement.
  • Creative and advanced problem-solving and influencing skills to resolve complex issues.


  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or a related or relevant field.
  • Accreditations in psychometrics and personality preferencing tools; change management and/ or project management.
