We are currently seeking a Human Resources Superintendent to join our Human Resources team. This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity, working a 4 days on, 3 days off FIFO roster at the Leonora Operations.

You will be reporting to the Head of People, Communications & Corporate Affairs, with your accountability to provide support to the site across the full suite of Human Resources Systems and to provide support, coaching and advice to leaders.

The opportunity

  • Ensuring the Company’s HR systems, policies and guidelines are appropriate and being used to good effect with particular attention to effective, fair and consistent application at the Leonora Operations.
  • Providing sound and timely people-related advice, coaching and information to managers at the Leonora Operations.
  • Ensuring all relevant internal and external compliance obligations are understood and met.
  • Providing professional HR support across the employee lifecycle including recruitment/selection, onboarding, performance, career development, progression and succession.
  • Providing employee relations support including coaching leaders in the management of employees covering case management, performance / conduct issues, workers compensation and non-work related injury/illness.
  • Developing and delivering workshops and coaching sessions for leaders on the Company’s HR systems and processes.
  • Contributing to the review and development of HR Systems and guidelines.
  • Contributing to the effective maintenance, use and reporting of high-quality and relevant HR information.
  • Leading designated HR projects and business improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing productively as a member of the Human Resources Team toward the overall success of the Human Resources function.

What we will expect from you

  • You should feel a strong alignment with St Barbara’s values as you will be required to live them. You will use our values, along with our five commitments, to guide your decision making as you work for the safety and wellbeing of our people.
  • You are able to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months) for site access purposes.
  • You have a current unencumbered West Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • You hold a tertiary qualification in a human resources related discipline.
  • You have at least five (5) years relevant human resources work experience as a senior professional within the Resources Industry.
  • You have knowledge of relevant state and Australian employment legislation.
  • You have extensive employee relations and case management experience.
  • You have the ability to plan and delegate work to meet Company requirements.
  • You have excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills.
  • You are agile in an ever changing environment.
