About the role:

Reporting to the Human Resources Team Leader, the HR Consultant will partner with site leaders to deliver best practice HR consultancy services in the areas of employee and industrial relations, change management, investigations and disciplinary processes, performance development, remuneration and benefits, and staff recruitment and selection.

We are seeking a proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is committed to delivering excellence in customer service and can agilely respond and adjust to changing work demands and circumstances. The HR Consultant will work autonomously with managers, and will additionally have the opportunity to drive strategic projects and programs to enhance our HR service delivery and contribute to the development of a high-performance culture.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR consultancy/generalist role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading the investigation, mediation and successful resolution of performance issues, grievances and other matters
  • Experience partnering with managers to provide advice, guidance and coaching on ER and IR matters
  • Sound practical knowledge of contemporary human resources and IR issues, including relevant Australian workplace legislation and awards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, risks and opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly develop strong relationships, and be able to influence and negotiate with frontline and middle managers, union representatives, external service providers and other key stakeholders
