The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to lead our Talent Acquisition function in ANZ across the entire J&J Enterprise (Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Healthcare). In this role you will be responsible to setting the strategic vision that will provide J&J with a recruiting driven advantage. You will build industry & business insights and serve as a dedicated, strategic, and trusted talent advisor to Business Leaders and Human Resource Business Partners. You will stay on top of trends and market changes and will be knowledgeable about the talent landscape. You will translate business and enterprise strategy to talent priorities by bringing deep expertise and market knowledge regularly.


Leading an agile team of experienced Recruiters and a Team Leader in the end-to-end process of assessing and acquiring high quality talent. You will stay adept and agile to the evolving TA Landscape and assess for opportunities to embed alternate recruiting / co-source models, in line with fit-for-market hiring strategies. You will maintain confidentiality and operate with poise and integrity. You will drive organizational dedication and accountability to deliver operational excellence, talent focus and overall development of our people.

Reporting into the Head of Talent Acquisition, Asia Pacific and you’ll be joining a fun, friendly and supportive team comprised of 7 Recruiters and one Team Coordinator.

In this exciting role you will:

  • Lead an experienced team of Recruiters and a Team Leader to craft and deliver our recruitment priorities and initiatives, thereby enabling the acquisition of top talent to meet our strategic objectives and ongoing talent needs.
  • Partner with BUHR and internal partners to identify talent needs, capability gaps to influence, current and future capability needs, workforce planning outcomes and any specific talent challenges - shape and drive effective recruiting strategies tailored to meeting strong talent outcomes.
  • Partner as a talent advisor with internal teams and external TA partners by consistently using an open, consultative, employee and customer-centric approach to ensure J&J’s ability to gain the right insights and shape solutions.
  • Develop and deliver to the Diversity Attract Strategy for the country / cluster in partnership with key partners (Business/ HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Resource Groups, etc.).
  • Build advocacy and collaboration with TA Partners like Talent Solutions, Corporate Services TA Teams, to provide a seamless E2E Hiring experience. Leverage Enterprise resources to maximise on the TA Value proposition.
  • Collaborate in a culture of agile thinking within Recruiting, driving an outstanding candidate and hiring manager experience through a fast, adaptive, digitally enabled recruiting approach, ensuring hyper-connectivity & engagement across multiple partner groups.
  • Build a comprehensive Talent Sourcing Strategy that will ensure the Company is finding world-class talent. Collaborate with Talent Insights Team to design and lead the implementation of identification strategies while ensuring alignment with talent priorities.
  • Maximise usage of digital platforms like LinkedIn Insights, Talent Neuron, Beamery, to enhance our Pipelining and sourcing capability, thereby enabling us to be proactive to talent needs.
  • Partner with diverse functions internally and Agencies externally and help shape the Employer Branding Strategy, with clear focus on target segments, channels, and ecosystem to enhance our Employer Brand and Talent Attraction ability.
  • Enable teams with resources and tools, coaching and on-the-job learning to build key capabilities like business acumen, data storytelling, DE & I and sourcing.
  • Drive a culture of agility, solution orientation and end-to-end ownership to ensure that TA is providing thought leadership and a seamless experience.
  • Supervise and assess team performance using critical metrics and analytics, while creating space and opportunity for continuous improvement.

It's all about YOU

  • MBA or equivalent with minimum 10 years of work experience, HR, or related field.
  • Preferred: At least 3 years’ experience in recruiting or talent sourcing capability.
  • A minimum of 3 years as a People Leader, leading and developing a team with a strong focus on team engagement and individual performance is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in crafting solutions, strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external partners
  • Ability to translate business needs to recruiting strategies and impactful solutions
  • Experience in utilizing metrics and insights to build and deliver a high-performance outcome
  • The ability to provide clear direction quickly and on-demand to work effectively in an agile environment, handle multiple projects and daily ad-hoc operational activities
