This is an exciting time to be apart of Catch. We are seeking a Safety Advisor to join our new and first Fulfilment Centre based in Moorebank, NSW. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to make an impact, who is self-motivated, takes initiative in their work. Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety in Melbourne, you’ll have the sole responsibility for management of safety operations, reporting and system administration. You’ll have a large focus on delivering the site Safety Vision regarding safety, people and values, operational performance, customer service and safety strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing

What does a normal day in the life of a Safety Advisor look like?

Well, no two days are alike at Catch, but you could probably expect your typical day to include some of the following things

  • Accountable for site safety leadership through administration, management, implementation and evaluation of safe work practices, improving safety performance and celebrating achievements
  • Lead and manage all contractors on site to ensure legal and internal safety compliance
  • Support operational teams with safety compliance through effective coaching and mentoring
  • Administration of reported and identified risks and hazards are documented, investigated, actioned and escalated where applicable
  • Manage the site Return to Work function in accordance with organisational policy, procedure and legislative requirements
  • Monitor and coordinate essential safety measures and ensuring compliance with relevant codes of practice
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the workforce to support with managing hazards and safety issues
  • Accountable for compliance with company policies, Code of Conduct, Awards, Equal Employment Opportunity and all other applicable legislation
  • Manage and implement audit findings to meet all internal and external compliance requirements
  • Working with other department managers to ensure smooth and efficient day to day operations throughout the site in a safe manner

  • Minimum Cert IV in OHS and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
  • At least 4 years’ experience in an Advisor role
  • Ability to work autonomously and execute considered decisions in a fast moving business environment
  • Experience in managing incidents, investigations and internal/external audits
  • Capacity of be an effective and positive change agent and continuous improvement
  • Proven to be effective with stakeholder management and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to identify opportunities to deliver strategic objectives
  • Experience in compiling site safety reporting and statistics
  • Current Drives Licence
