    Job Description

    Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager, this role plays an integral part in overseeing the sites Health & Safety function in WA.

    Key duties will include but are not limited too;
    • Responsible for the provision of specialist advice and support to management and employees, and assist with the coordination, implementation and day-to-day management of workplace prevention strategies, in order to effectively manage and reduce workplace risk
    • Responsible for working with various stakeholders to manage, monitor and review work practices, procedures, and outcomes so that safety standards meet or exceed best practice benchmarks for the industry, across the country, and where appropriate, internationally
    • Supporting the management team to continuously improve processes and procedures and drive performance in HSE
    • Updating risk management policies
    • Coordinate and maintain the implementation, maintenance and review and the HSQE Management System
    • Monitor compliance and Quality Assurance documents
    • Coordination of audits, site inspections and inductions
    • Conducting risk assessments, audits and inspections of site work activities and conditions
    • Managing incident investigations and providing assistance in leading, drafting and presenting reports
    • Continuous improvement relating to quality
    • Assist in reviewing and writing policies and procedures related to H&S practices including the Drug & Alcohol policy and procedure
    • Identifying areas of improvement and implementing new processes and procedures
    • Developing and implementing safety initiatives


    The Successful Applicant

    The Successful Candidate Will Be An Experienced Senior HSEQ Advisor With a Certified Qualification In Health & Safety (Diploma Or Above) With The Following Expertise
    • Demonstrated experience as a leader in managing industry work scopes - preferably experience working in construction projects and ideally shipbuilding;
    • Well-developed verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders;
    • Skills and experience in providing professional advice to clients relating to WHS compliance, issue management, practices and initiatives;
    • Considerable knowledge and application of relevant WHS legislation and management of change;
    • An innovative thinker and problem solver;
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and interact in a team environment;
    • Experience in developing WHS culture;
    • Experience in conducting WHS audits and site verification checks;
    • Experience in leading emergency response activities/training/drills;
    • Investigator of incidents;
    • Exposure to working with or in Government agencies, preferably defence;
    • Able to manage multiple activities by prioritising work; and
    • Exceptional customer focus skills


    What's On Offer

    This is a 3 month contract full time positions offering an excellent working environment, stability and potentially longer term opportunities
    • Perth based south of the River
    • Monday - Friday 40 hours per week
    • Immediately start
    • Based on site in Perth
    • 3 month contract
    • $60 - $70 per hour + GST
