The Role

This exciting opportunity is a hands-on role for an experienced Environment and Safety management professional, based at our Salisbury South operations site. Supporting the effective implementation and continuous improvement of our current and future Safety and Environmental requirements across the site, you will monitor all safety and environmental aspects and prepare reports to management in regard to investigations, audits, risk assessments, SOP’s and policies.

Key Areas of responsibility:

  • Maintaining the drive and commitment to continuously improve safety and environment culture and performance within our business
  • The development of and engagement of stakeholders in effective management of EHS programs ensuring alignment with legislation and Good Manufacturing Practice compliance
  • The development, implementation, maintenance and auditing of EHS policies and standard operating procedures
  • Implementing and monitoring of environment and work health and safety programs to ensure compliance by personnel; including contractors
  • Monitoring and reporting of performance measures/metrics on environment protection, work health and safety management systems;
  • Influencing the business to respond to environment and work health and safety challenges from a holistic perspective, providing technical environment and health and safety coaching and advice to all levels of the business

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualifications or Certifications in Safety and Training 
  • Experience in plant safety and occupational hygiene
  • Incident reporting / investigation experience
  • Understanding of risk management, assessment and control
  • Previous experience in a safety role within manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of current safety and environmental legislation, codes of practise and standards
  • A pragmatic approach with proven ability to lead, coach and mentor teams 
  • Strong administrative skills using MS office products
  • Exceptional communication skills and a solutions focussed mindset
