The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Consultant to join our national graduate recruitment team on a permanent full time basis. You will work with a tight-knit, award winning national team who are recognised as one of the nation's top graduate employers with a market leading intern program.

The successful candidate will report to the National Graduate Programs Manager and will manage the full life cycle of our Clerkship and Graduate programs in our Melbourne office including:

  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process of hiring Seasonal Clerks and Graduates including organising and attending university campus and in-house events.
  • Building trusted, commercial relationships with key stakeholders in the Melbourne Partnership and university Law Societies to enable the success of the Ashurst brand and the Clerkship and Graduates program.
  • Coordinating the Clerkship/Graduate program, appraisal process, rotations, final settlement and associated HR issues during their time at the firm.

Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in graduate recruitment is essential.
  • Preferred experience in well recognised law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to manage difficult conversations.
  • Organised, conscientious, with strong attention to detail.
  • Personable and approachable style with an ability to communicate well at all levels.
  • Works well within a team and works autonomously when needed.
  • Hard working, using initiative to manage own workload, especially at busy times.
  • Proactive, with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
