  • Managing all upsell and cross-sell activity within the assigned territory
  • Acting as lead on new sales in LifeWorks business lines including EFAP, Workplace Training, and Targeted Health programs
  • Developing strategic relationships with key contacts from prospects and/or third party advisors
  • Development and execution of a regional business plan for assigned territory or territories
  • Demonstrating an ability to leverage resources and strategically manage the growth of customer relationships
  • Maintain responsibility for full sales cycle, from opportunity identification through to negotiation and close of sale, with a heavy focus on prospecting
  • Participating in campaigns and regional conferences as required

Succeeding as a Director, Business Development will require the following core qualifications and skills:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Human Resources, Health Sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience, and proven track record of success in complex B2B sales environments
  • Experience in Human Resources, employee health and wellness, disability management or other similar support programs, and the associated technology is preferred
  • A high level of motivation, strong presentation skills, an understanding of consultative selling, and the ability to manage the sales cycle effectively and autonomously
  • Strong business acumen, and expert negotiation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and solid written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, professional maturity, and the ability to think and act strategically
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and collaborative skills that allow you to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel within the assigned region(s) will be required
