About the Role

With 25 core services delivered for the Sunshine Coast, covering infrastructure, environmental and economic development the wellbeing, health and safety of our workforce is essential to meeting the region’s needs. As the Coordinator Wellbeing, Health & Safety you will;

· Guide the team to deliver contemporary, comprehensive and evidence based wellbeing, health and safety services

· Lead the development and implementation of wellbeing, health and safety strategy that is aligned to WHS risk profiling and enables prioritisation

· Lead continuous improvement of the organisation’s health and safety system

· Investigate workplace incidents including injuries and compliance matters

· Ensure compliance with regulatory WHS requirements

· Establish initiatives that contribute to organisational behavioural change to the preferred proactive health and safety culture

· Undertake research and data analysis to lead safety system improvements and performance

· Lead and coach your own team


About you

A trusted advisor in Council, your ability to transcend between council-wide change while equally delivering effective operational services at the front line will be extremely critical to the role. A background in leading a contemporary WHS service in a medium to large diverse organisation, along with previous people management experience is a must. Tertiary qualifications in WHS or related discipline, along with Lead Auditor certification are required. You will be a natural leader with outstanding communication skills, coaching capabilities and passion for wellbeing, health & safety excellence.
