Wilsons is a distinguished financial services firm with a history spanning over 125 years. Today, we have significant capabilities in private wealth management, corporate finance, equity research, investment strategy, and institutional sales.

We currently have a position available for an HR Business Partner. The HR Business Partner works closely with the Wilsons leadership team across three locations to provide support and advice across a broad range of people matters, including generalist HR, talent, development, employee relations, performance management.

The role will also be coaching and upskilling key stakeholders to build capability and drive the HR strategy, partnering closely with the Payroll / HR Adviser.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders across breadth of HR including employee relations, performance and reward, talent acquisition and development, leadership development, workplace health and safety and employee engagement
  • Design programs that balance the employee experience with regulatory requirements, commerciality and delivering tangible benefits for Wilsons
  • Program management of key people programs such as talent acquisition, annual performance conversations, employee engagement surveys and partner with leaders to understand results and put together plans, action planning, equity partner program
  • Drive diversity and inclusion initiatives and ensure systems and processes support this
  • Collaborate on the design and delivery of development programs, including leadership programs
  • Provide policy and legislative interpretation and counsel
  • WHS management including hazards, risk management, incident management, return to work support
  • Investigate any grievance processes and coach leaders to support performance improvement conversations
  • Foster and promote Wilsons culture
  • Promote and adopt the standards set out in our compliance and operational manuals and policies, as well as meeting and exceeding the ASX, ASIC and other regulatory requirements or standards

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge:


  • Qualifications (or equivalent experience) in HR
  • Broad HR experience that combines strong commercial understanding and key HR levers
  • Experience working in financial services, such as corporate banking, financial planning or stockbroking environment
  • Experience delivering specific initiatives aligned to the HR plan, in a fast paced environment
  • Passion for talent and leadership development
  • Experience leading programs across the entire employee lifecycle
  • Collaboration with a demonstrated ability to influence and drive change with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Ability to think strategically, while being comfortable getting in the detail and getting things done


  • Experience across HR centre of expertise, such as organisational development, leadership development
