JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our growing National Injury Management team where you will provide advice, support and assistance to the organisation and injured employees in relation to injury management, return to work and health & wellbeing programs. You will be joining a fast paced, agile workplace in one of Australia’s leading social purpose organisations. This position will partner with our Client Services teams across NSW and as such, this role can be based from any one of our offices in NSW with flexibility to work remotely. The predominant office locations are in Newcastle and Sydney.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage with and provide timely information and advice to stakeholders about injury management systems and processes
  • Drive a focus on early intervention in the management of work and non-work related injury and illness
  • Liaise with treating Doctor(s) and other health care professionals to discuss issues related to the injury or obtain or provide reports which will assist in the development of a return to work plan
  • In consultation with Managers, the injured employee, treating doctor/s and the broader HSE team, identify suitable duties and develop, implement & monitor Return to Work plans and goals
  • Establish strong working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Maintain and monitor legislative compliance
  • Provide timely and accurate information to injured/ill employees about the Return to Work process and associated information on workers compensation requirements and entitlements 
  • Assist in the developing and implementing organisation health and wellbeing programs and initiatives that support a holistic approach to wellbeing across the organisation
  • Participate in regular claim review meetings with Client Services, Injury Management Lead and the relevant insurer or third party agent.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Allied Health, Rehabilitation or Human Resources Management or equivalent experience
  • Completion of regulatory approved/endorsed Return to Work Co-ordinator training or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in Return to Work, Injury Management, Case Management or Workers Compensation Claim Management role with the NSW compensation scheme for icare and/or in a self-insured environment (Note: LWB have obtained a Self-Insurance licence earlier in the year)
  • Proven experience and ability to engage with key stakeholders including Doctors, injured employees, insurers and operational management/supervision
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, external organisations, funding bodies and government agencies

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
