St Vincent’s Private Melbourne is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.

Reporting to the Safety and Performance Manager, we have an exciting opportunity available for an Injury Management Coordinator to join us on a 12 month full time fixed term contract, with the potential to become permanent. The Injury Management Coordinator is responsible for providing professional injury management, return to work and claims management services that are consistent with the human resources strategy of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne and to ensure an early, safe and sustainable return to work of injured employees.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
  • Providing prompt, customer focused efficient services specifically to injured employees and their managers to support them in their return to work.
  • Interpretation of workers’ compensation legislation to advise management of their responsibilities in relation to workers’ compensation and return to work obligations
  • Provide quality services and advice to support implementation of injury management policies and Return to Work (RTW) programs.
  • Initiate injury and claims management procedures when notified of a staff work related injury/illness.
  • Providing general administrative assistance to the WHS Team, including WHS record keeping and coordinating various WHS initiatives.

Key selection criteria including;
  • WorkCover Return to Work Coordinator certificate
  • Allied Health background is highly desirable
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in injury and RTW coordination and claims management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013
  • Demonstrated ability to apply claims management and occupational return to work/rehabilitation requirements
  • Experience in the development and implementation of WH&S, RTW and injury management policies, strategies, systems and procedures
