About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Safety and Wellbeing, the Safety and Wellbeing Business Unit is looking for an experienced Manager to Lead and manage a dynamic and high performing Projects & Training team on a fixed term basis to Dec 22. Responsible for identifying, creating and implementing major improvement projects that enhance the businesses ability to maintain contemporary Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system arrangements that comprise industry and global best practice.

What the role will involve:

  • Collaborating alongside the Safety and Wellbeing Lead team to embed a strong culture of continuous improvement and innovation into our daily practices.
  • Providing leadership across teams responsible for delivering major improvement and change programs
  • Maintaining positive key stakeholder engagement sessions throughout the lifecycle of project implementation.
  • Maintaining key milestone reporting and built in measures of success for each project are established for business benefits realisation.
  • Ensuring each project aligns with Safety and Wellbeing processes to ensure consistency.
  • Establish effective forums, networks and mechanisms to identify areas of underperformance or weaknesses in current management arrangements for HSE.
  • Accountable for financial and business performance including operating costs, efficient use of resources and meeting performance targets and objectives

Key skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification in either Project Management (PMP, Prince 2, MSP or RegPM certified) or Occupational Safety and / or Health related discipline.
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated achievements in leading, developing and implementing funded improvement projects to support outcomes for large complex organisations.
  • Substantial “ hands on” experience; and management experience in the development of corporate management systems, procedures and processes
  • Extensive experience in performance reporting at all levels of an organisation, including Board
  • Demonstrated capability in devising and creating business cases for large scale funded projects
  • Substantial experience in conducting high level reviews to identify improvement areas, assigning actions and verification of close out.
  • Extensive professional and broad ranging experience in a large multi-disciplined organisation.
  • Considerable experience and demonstrated achievements in leading a group of multidisciplinary staff.
