The Role

Working for the Executive Manager, Corporate Services, you will lead the Culture & Capability function for this company of c120 employees. Managing a team of 2, you will drive our culture of development, focusing on talent management and continuously improving what we do.

This is a truly varied role with a good mix of strategic and operational priorities, working alongside an experienced, capable, and collaborative group of leaders. We are looking for someone to work 3 or 4 days per week.

As part of this role, you will be required to oversee the payroll function which is managed within the HR team.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the CEO and Executive team to drive the organisation towards our target culture and continually review how we are doing against our goals.
  • Lead and facilitate the evidence-based development of our people strategy, in alignment with the overall target culture and strategic priorities of MDANI.
  • Ensure our pay strategy is effective and aligned with market rates, and that our development framework and criteria for reward drives the target culture, values and behaviours as determined.
  • Facilitate the preparation of the salary budget and lead the annual salary review process.
  • Manage and advise managers on complex Employee relations issues (including discipline, dispute resolution, performance, and ill health).
  • Have responsibility for the review, implementation and monitoring of all people related policies, processes, and procedures in line with relevant legislation.
  • Manage and conduct the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process.
  • Develop, oversee, manage, and contribute to projects as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Proactive mindset, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
  • Experience with managing change, particularly culture & people change.
  • Proven skills in coaching, mentoring, developing and performance management of staff.
  • Demonstrate understanding of current thinking with regards to organisational theory, development, and motivation (for example, Simon Sinek, Brene Brown, Daniel Pink, Carol Dweck and Kim Scott)
  • Must be able to show a modern, contemporary approach to HR issues and work well in a team and with other people.
  • Well organised, ability to prioritise and undertake multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates high level of emotional intelligence and is able to relate well to others.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach
  • Project Management ability
  • Excellent IT and communication skills.
  • Prior experience of change management and / or Payroll management would be an advantage.
