About The Role

Reporting to the Chief People Officer and forming a crucial part of the people leadership team you will be responsible for strengthening Workplace Health and Safety foundations whilst driving and being accountable for the development and delivery of strategic objectives and risk management across organisation. As the Head of Workplace Health and Safety you will;

  • Develop, lead and manage workplace health and safety frameworks and strategies across the business
  • Drive WHS culture through partnership & coaching to lead a zero-harm workplace
  • Develop and lead the implementation of the WHS strategic plan
  • Provide advice and guidance to the WHS team and broader people team
  • Lead WHS integration and determine organisational process, procedure & policy direction
  • Develop & implement a WHS reporting structure, provide board reports & insights
  • Partner with the business to ensure that WHS risks are well managed
  • Ensure learnings and corrective actions from audits, incidents or other sources are implemented and enhance the WHS environment
  • Proactive approach in monitoring and evaluating WHS risks, developing strategies to eliminate or minimise risk to the business
About You
  • Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing WHS teams
  • Demonstrated experience creating strategy and partnering with leaders to build safety cultures, whilst you also enjoy contributing at an operational level
  • Ability to work remotely and partner with geographically dispersed stakeholders
  • Experience driving and implementing national safety strategies across a multisite environment
  • High level of interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, writing and communication skills
