An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced recruiter to join our Student Employment service (MQSE) as a Recruitment Officer.

  • Salary Package:
    From $75,400 - $85,728 p.a. (HEW Level 5), plus 17% employer's superannuation.
  • Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term role until 31 December 2021.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated recruiter to join our passionate recruitment team focused on supporting employment opportunities for student and graduate placements. You will support students on campus by maximising their employability, assisting with job application and interview skills, and placing students in positions within the University and with key partners within the Macquarie Park Innovation District (MPID). You will deliver constructive advice and feedback to students to support positive employment outcomes.

You will respond to student queries regarding eligibility and opportunities of employment on campus and with MPID partners, along with the provision of career service information. You will engage with and actively promote employment opportunities to students and graduates. This is an active and exciting role which will develop and expand your recruitment skills and showcase your recruitment capability.

About You

You will be an experienced recruiter with either agency or internal recruitment experience, and will enjoy providing career and recruitment support and advice to a range of clients. You will be solution and quality focused, able to deliver a range of recruitment projects and will have advanced personal communications and interpersonal skills. You will have demonstrable experience in the delivery of a positive recruitment experience, and well-developed administrative and organisational capabilities.

You can develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals across the University. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and ensure an exceptionally high standard of delivery.

  • Completion of a relevant degree, with subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience in recruitment, HR processes and student recruitment;
  • Experience in working in both individual and group formats;
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with a range of employers/ hiring managers.
  • Ability to provide support and guidance to students/clients about employment and recruitment processes;
  • Understanding of the range of issues impacting on student participation, retention, employability and success within the higher education sector (desirable);
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with stakeholders;
  • Ability to be organised, to work productively both independently and as a member of a team, and flexibly respond to demands as they arise;
  • Ability to identify and provide advice on systemic issues that may negatively affect the employability or professional success of students at Macquarie University.
