Our opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and motivated HR Officer to provide administrative support to our HR team. This is a 12-month fixed term full time contract position, 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility of an extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR administration professional to take the next step into a HR career. This dynamic role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in a range of HR areas.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide policy advice and guidance to managers and staff by interpreting legislations and awards
  • Assist with payroll processing and queries
  • Organise staff contracts, paperwork and associated key documents
  • Assist with health and safety and wellbeing initiatives
  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process
  • Maintaining data/files in the HR System
  • Respond to general staff enquiries in HR inbox
  • Provide administration, reporting and documentation support to the HR team
  • Support our Learning and Development initiatives, including orientation of new staff
  • Contribute to the delivery of key HR initiatives and projects such as HRIS

Essential skills and experience

To be successful in this role,
you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR administration or coordinator role in an office environment
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Highly developed attention to detail and follow up
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels
  • Related tertiary qualification
  • Payroll and HRIS experience (desirable)
