The opportunity

One of QBE’s strategic priorities is accelerating our Talent Strategy and continuing to embed our QBE DNA and HR have been evolving as a function to support this transformation globally.

We have a newly created HR Analyst role in our Group HR Policy, Risk and Compliance team to provide support on key initiatives and programs in this area. Working group-wide, you will help to establish a simple, connected HR policy framework that is enabling for our people. You will assist in ensuring regulatory and governance requirements are met in the way we design, implement and monitor HR policy, risk and compliance practices to keep our function safe and controlled. You will champion for continuous improvement across our policy, risk and governance framework aiming to drive an uplift in employee experience across QBE.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Understand our organisational strategy and work across global HR projects to maintain the right policy framework and risk and compliance controls for the HR function
  • Establish, implement and monitor common standards in the development, review, maintenance and tracking of HR policies across all geographies
  • Lead regular reporting to provide a global view of our risk culture while embedding strong risk management and business continuity practices through the function
  • Contribute to the preparation of papers, reporting and monitoring for the HR Leadership team, Executive Committees and Board
  • Actively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to determine areas of improvement in existing policy, risk and compliance processes with a focus on leading market practice, automation and increasing efficiency
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of global stakeholders and apply influencing, negotiation and consulting skills in achieving desired outcomes

Your story so far

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources, business / commerce, law or relevant degree in conjunction with at least two years of work experience
  • Experience working in large, complex corporate environments or consulting to such organisations
  • Experience in large scale policy, risk, compliance and / or governance change initiatives from start to finish
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to influence and manage stakeholders and build effective relationships
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including prior experience drafting or contributing to executive and Board papers with the ability to synthesise complex information from multiple sources
  • Adaptable, embraces change and pro-active in challenging and improving business processes
